Professional Statement
Delaney Canton is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with Charleston Oncology. She provides patient-centered care and values the opportunity to support individuals and families during what can be a frightening and vulnerable time.
Clinical interests and services
• Patient education and shared decision-making
• Symptom support during treatment
• Care coordination and follow-up support
Delaney began her nursing career as a registered nurse working in cardiothoracic surgery, women’s surgery and postpartum care. Those experiences shaped her ability to care for patients with complex needs while offering reassurance and clear communication. She believes it is important for patients to feel informed, heard and supported throughout their care.
Her interest in oncology is deeply personal. With a family history of breast cancer and personal experiences supporting loved ones through treatment, Delaney feels called to walk alongside patients facing a cancer diagnosis. She is committed to taking time to educate and empower patients so they can feel more informed and more in control of their care.
Delaney earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating cum laude from Clemson University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Outside of work, Delaney enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their black lab, Hallie. She is a big Clemson Tiger football fan and also enjoys running, reading and being on the water or at the beach.
Charleston Oncology is a department of Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital.
