Emily's interest in wound care began during her years as a nurse, where she came to appreciate how much goes into healing and how much a stubborn wound can take from a person's independence. She enjoys pairing evidence-based treatment with hands-on procedures to give patients the best chance at a full recovery.
That work carries real stakes. For patients facing a wound that will not close, the difference between healing and losing a limb can come down to how quickly the right team gets involved. Emily works alongside vascular surgeons, podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons and rehabilitation specialists who share a belief at the heart of this program: saving a limb is saving a life.
She believes every patient deserves care built around them, and she takes time to understand each person's goals, lifestyle and overall health. Emily makes a point of teaching patients and their families what to expect so they feel informed and confident through every stage of healing. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, prevention and long-term strategies that reduce the risk of recurrence.
Emily earned her Master of Science in Nursing, family nurse practitioner, from the University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Brockport. She is a Certified Wound Specialist through the American Board of Wound Management.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, boating, cheering on the Buffalo Bills and traveling.
