Heidi Sapp, MD

Dr. Heidi Sapp is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Charleston OB/GYN. She provides attentive, evidence-based care for patients through every stage of life and is known for her calm presence, clear communication and genuine compassion.

Clinical interests and services include:

• Prenatal, delivery and postpartum care
• Contraception counseling and IUD placement
• Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy
• Evaluation and management of common gynecologic concerns

Dr. Sapp earned her medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, in 2008, where she served as chief resident of administration. During training she received multiple teaching and clinical honors, including the Golden Apple Teaching Award, the Faculty Excellence Teaching Award and the H. Oliver Williamson Award for excellence in gynecology. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Winona State University.

Service has long been part of Dr. Sapp’s life. After college she volunteered at an orphanage in Brazil, and she has participated in medical mission work in Kenya, Ecuador and Belize. She grew up in a rural Iowa farming community, where family and faith shaped her commitment to caring for others.

Outside of work, Dr. Sapp and her husband are busy cheering on their three daughters. She enjoys biking, cooking and visiting national parks.
