Katie Ruiz, PAC

Katie Ruiz is a nationally certified physician assistant with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care.

Katie offers a wide range of primary care services, including:

• Wellness exams
• Chronic condition management and treatment for acute illnesses

She has special interests in:

• Women’s health, performing cervical cancer screenings, IUD and birth control implant insertions
• Joint and bursa injections

She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and completed a Master of Medical Science with a focus in physician assistant studies. She provides care for patients of all ages and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Her path to medicine began as a teenager when she volunteered with her hometown’s ambulance service in Connecticut. Becoming a certified EMT in high school, she learned early the value of teamwork, leadership and compassionate care—experiences that continue to guide her practice today.

Katie believes in building strong relationships with her patients and making sure they feel heard, supported and confident in their care decisions. Her approach centers around open communication and partnering with patients to create care plans that reflect their values and goals.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons. Whether they’re playing soccer in the yard, swimming or enjoying time at the beach, her family is her greatest joy. She’s also an avid reader and loves being part of her monthly book club.
