Lauren Hamilton, MD

Dr. Lauren Hamilton is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Charleston OB/GYN. She has been caring for women in the Lowcountry since 1997. She serves as the Medical Director of Women, Infants & Children at Roper St. Francis Healthcare.

Clinical interests include:

• Obstetrics
• General gynecology
• Preventive care and family planning
• Perimenopause and menopause care
• Minimally invasive laparoscopic and vaginal surgery

Dr. Hamilton received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she served as administrative chief resident. She received the Excellence in Laparoscopic Surgery Award from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She also earned a Master of Science in anatomy from the University of Maryland and her undergraduate degree from Goucher College.

Dr. Hamilton is deeply committed to both the physical and emotional well-being of her patients. She enjoys getting to know patients as people and wants to understand how their physical health connects to their overall well-being. Her favorite part of her work is the ability to follow patients throughout their lives and support them through changing seasons and goals.

The granddaughter of Italian and Hungarian immigrants, Dr. Hamilton was influenced by her family’s work ethic, commitment to education and dedication to one another, which helped shape her desire to pursue medicine and serve her community.

Outside of work, Dr. Hamilton enjoys exercising, reading and traveling with her family. She is married and has two daughters, one pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynecology and one in law school.
