Margaret Kimzey, MD

Dr. Margaret Kimzey is a board-certified internal medicine physician with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care. She specializes in caring for adults with a wide range of health needs, including metabolic conditions such as diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity and PCOS, as well as common concerns like hypertension, high cholesterol and heart failure. Her approach blends clinical expertise with a focus on long-term wellness and prevention.

Dr. Kimzey earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport and completed her internal medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in sociology from Louisiana State University’s Ogden Honors College.

Raised by an internal medicine physician, Dr. Kimzey witnessed firsthand how thoughtful, compassionate care can build lasting relationships and improve lives. That early influence shaped her view of medicine as more than treating disease; it’s about knowing patients as people and being a steady, trusted partner in their health journey.

Her goal is to provide thorough, evidence-based care while ensuring patients feel heard and supported. She values strong communication and shared decision-making, tailoring each plan to fit the unique goals and needs of every individual.

Outside of work, Dr. Kimzey enjoys spending time with her husband and their two golden retrievers, Finley and Foster. You can often find them on the water, boating, at the beach or staying active playing tennis and pickleball.
