Dr. Samuel Powell is a board-certified cardiologist and internist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Coastal Cardiology. He treats a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and specializes in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Powell earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He has held leadership roles during his training and contributed to academic papers and book chapters. He also volunteers on several medical committees and is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Preventive Cardiology.
In his free time, Dr. Powell enjoys exercising, running, biking, traveling and spending time with his family.

It was especially impressive how up to date Dr. Powell was with my current health status. I recently had an appointment with a hematologist, and Dr. Powell had reviewed those notes before entering the examination room. I appreciate that advance preparation so that he could devote 100% of my appointment time on me instead of needing to review notes off a computer.

Dr Powell had reviewed all my tests prior to meeting with me. He discussed possible causes for my problem. Ordered an additional test and recommended I see a pulmonologist before returning to see him over all. I was very impressed with him

I am not one to go to the doctor, bad anxiety with white coats. However Dr. Powell was great and I have no stress or worry about my next visit. He's a 10+ and you'd be crazy to ever let him go. What an asset to your medical team!

I highly recommend Dr. Powell if someone is having cardiac issues. He is knowledgeable and and explains everything in a manner that can be understood. Again, I would highly recommend him.
