About Aaron Hyson

Professional Statement

Dr. Aaron Hyson is a board-certified family medicine physician with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care. He provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, with special interests in preventive care and lifestyle medicine. He also performs a variety of in-office procedures, including joint injections and minor skin procedures such as biopsies and excisions.

His philosophy of care focuses on getting to the root of a problem and finding the right balance between lifestyle changes and medical treatment. He values the opportunity to help patients reduce unnecessary medications, when possible, while also using the most appropriate medical treatments when needed to support his patients’ health and quality of life.

Dr. Hyson knew early on that he wanted to become a doctor. Fascinated by the complexity of the human body and mind, he was drawn to solving problems and helping people better understand their health. His experiences reinforced that primary care was the place he could make the biggest impact – addressing a wide range of concerns, building meaningful relationships and helping patients stay engaged in their
wellbeing.

Dr. Hyson earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his family medicine residency at Trident/MUSC Family Medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Coastal Carolina University.

Outside of work, Dr. Hyson enjoys woodworking, cooking, golf, reading and board games.
