About Aaron Purser

Professional Statement

Dr. Aaron Purser is a board-certified primary care physician with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his residency at the Trident/MUSC Family Medicine Residency.

He is skilled in outpatient procedures including:

  • Joint injections
  • Skin biopsies
  • Intralesional injections
  • Women’s health services such as IUD and Nexplanon insertions

Dr. Purser’s philosophy of care is straightforward: he sees himself as a human being helping other human beings. He emphasizes listening, taking time with patients, and treating them as he would want to be treated. His experience in resource-limited settings has equipped him to manage as much care as possible in the office, reserving specialist referrals for when they are truly needed. He also has several years of experience caring for patients with addictions.

Dr. Purser’s journey into medicine was inspired by working at a camp for children with disabilities and participating in international mission trips. Though initially drawn to pediatrics, his passion for caring for all ages led him to family medicine. He values being part of patients’ lives through all stages, from celebrating new births to providing care through aging.

One of the most rewarding parts of his work is seeing the tangible results of his patients’ efforts, whether improving A1C levels or adjusting to a new diagnosis. He believes in the importance of nonprofit work in healthcare and views all life as a gift to be treated with care and respect.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Purser enjoys life with his wife, who is also in healthcare, their two young sons and a daughter on the way. They have two golden retrievers, Otis and Olive. The family loves spending time at the beach, staying active and attending church. Gardening and home renovations are among his personal passions. Now back in Charleston, Dr. Purser looks forward to deepening his involvement with international and local mission organizations, combining his professional skills with his commitment to community service.
