Alyssa Braxton, MD

Dr. Alyssa Braxton is a board-certified psychiatrist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Behavioral Medicine.

She provides care for people living with:

• Substance use disorders
• Anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions

Dr. Braxton has particular expertise in supporting patients managing both addiction and psychiatric diagnoses.

She brings years of experience treating veterans and others facing the complex realities of mental health and recovery. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Whether a patient is just beginning to seek help or navigating a long-term treatment plan, Dr. Braxton believes in meeting people where they are. She works to create a safe, judgment-free space where patients feel seen, heard and supported as they move toward healing.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Braxton enjoys spending time with her family.
