Dr. Ann Cheri Foxx Leach is a board-certified pain management specialist and anesthesiologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners. She earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, completed her anesthesiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and pursued a fellowship in pain management at Emory University.
With decades of experience, Dr. Foxx provides advanced treatments for conditions such as neck and back pain, sciatica, pinched nerves, arthritis and joint pain.
Her expertise includes:
- Spinal cord stimulation
- Cervical spinal cord stimulator implantation
- Vertebral augmentation
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Sacroiliac joint fusion
- Spine and joint injections
Dr. Foxx’s passion for pain management is rooted in her personal experiences. Witnessing her grandmother suffer from chronic pain for many years without adequate care deeply influenced her decision to pursue a career in pain management. During her residency, she discovered the specialty and its myriad of treatments that could have improved her grandmother’s quality of life. This motivation continues to drive her work, as she helps patients regain their ability to live active, fulfilling lives free from the constant burden of pain.
Dr. Foxx believes in tailoring care to the unique journey of each patient. She works to identify the source of chronic pain, deliver effective treatments and implement maintenance programs that help patients regain confidence and self-assurance. Her approach is designed to empower individuals to lead fuller, more active lifestyles. She takes pride in making a tangible difference in her patients’ lives, from helping a parent walk their child down the aisle to enabling grandparents to enjoy active moments with their families.
Outside of work, Dr. Foxx is committed to living an active and balanced life. She enjoys taking dance classes, staying involved with her church and spending time with her husband exploring Charleston. She also strives to be a positive influence on her two daughters by staying fit. She hopes to learn to sail and plans to participate in the Cooper River Bridge Run indefinitely.

Dr. Foxx is the first pain management specialist that I've seen in the last 15 years that has been willing to work with me on changing my pain management plan. She agreed that if I am still in pain with my current plan that something wasn't working or needed to try something else other than opioids longterm. She was willing to work with me to make those changes and willing to build a group of professionals that would work together to help me reach my goals.
