Dr. Anna Matrachisia is a board-certified colorectal surgeon with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Colorectal Surgery.
She specializes in a wide range of colorectal conditions, including:
- Benign and malignant anorectal diseases
- Pelvic floor disorders
- Major abdominal colon and rectal surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant conditions of the colon

Dr. Matrachisia is also committed to women’s and LGBTQ health, providing compassionate care in a welcoming environment for all patients.
She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where she also completed a master’s in public health and a master’s in biomedical sciences. She completed her general surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Matrachisia began her academic journey at UCLA, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Her care philosophy is to treat every patient with the kindness and understanding she would want for herself and her family. She believes in building strong relationships with patients, supporting them throughout their treatment with personalized care and compassion.
Dr. Matrachisia says the relationships she forms with patients are the most rewarding part of her work. She finds joy in guiding them through their health journeys with empathy and skill.
Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children.
