About Brian Greenwell

Professional Statement

Dr. Brian Greenwell is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Clemson University and a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2012. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis and his fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute, finishing in 2018.

Following his fellowship, Dr. Greenwell served as a faculty member at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he was the Disease Focus Group Leader for the Malignant Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Group and developed South Carolina’s first Cutaneous Lymphoma Multidisciplinary Clinic. He was promoted to Associate Professor before joining Charleston Oncology in 2024.

Dr. Greenwell’s achievements include being selected for the Lymphoma Research Foundation Clinical Scholars Program and serving as Chief Fellow during his time at Emory University. He has made significant contributions to scientific literature, acted as the site primary investigator for multiple clinical trials, and participated in various manuscript and grant review committees, including those funded by the American Cancer Society.
