About Emily Spann
Professional Statement
Dr. Emily Spann is part of the Roper St. Francis Physician Partners OB/GYN team. She earned her medical degree from East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine, where she also completed her residency.
Dr. Spann was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after conducting research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as an undergraduate. There, she discovered the meaningful impact physicians can have on patients’ lives and developed a passion for caring for individuals and families. She enjoys supporting women through every stage of life and providing evidence-based care tailored to each patient.
Outside of work, Dr. Spann enjoys spending time at the beach with her husband, daughter and dog. She also loves cooking, exploring new restaurants and cheering on the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
