Erin Gerlica, PAC

Erin Gerlica is a nationally certified physician assistant with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Orthopaedics. She cares for orthopedic patients from their first evaluation through surgery and recovery, with a focus on joint and sports-related conditions of the shoulder, knee and hip.

Clinical interests and services include:

• Evaluation and treatment of common orthopedic conditions, including arthritis, meniscus tears and rotator cuff injuries
• Surgical assistance for joint replacement and arthroscopic procedures
• Preoperative and postoperative care
• Joint injections, including cortisone and viscosupplementation
• Patient education and recovery support

Erin's interest in medicine began at age 13, when a summer camp introduced her to healthcare and a tour of the operating room left a lasting impression. A naturally curious lifelong learner, she was drawn to a career that would continually challenge and inspire her. Her path led to orthopedics while she was working as a medical assistant before PA school, where she found deep reward in helping patients recover from injuries and return to the activities they love.

Erin believes patients do their best when they understand their condition and take an active role in their care. She works to create a comfortable, open environment where patients feel free to ask questions and share concerns, and she places a high value on building trust so each person feels informed, empowered and supported throughout their recovery.

Erin earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Lincoln Memorial University and her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from the University of South Florida.

Outside of work, Erin stays active through running, biking, swimming, pilates and yoga. She also enjoys reading, ceramics and spending time with her family. Having called Charleston home for several years, she feels a strong connection to the community she now serves.
