Dr. Gerald Bernard Taylor is a urogynecologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Urogynecology and Pelvic Surgery. 

Dr. Taylor specializes in:

  • Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
  • Reconstructive surgery of the female genitourinary tract

He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Afterward, he completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.

Following his fellowship, Dr. Taylor returned to Charlotte, where he was named director of advanced gynecologic surgery and urogynecology. During his time at Carolinas Medical Center, now Atrium Health, he held several academic and clinical roles, including assistant fellowship program director and medical director of the continence center. He received recognition for excellence in teaching residents and medical students and has numerous publications and national presentations.

Dr. Taylor is a member of several professional societies, including the American Urogynecologic Society, Society for Gynecologic Surgeons, World Professional Association for Transgender Health, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

He draws inspiration from his patients, their families, and the students, residents and fellows he has trained. Dr. Taylor understands that each patient brings unique life experiences and strives to provide individualized care that fits each patient’s lifestyle and needs.

An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Taylor enjoys endurance sports, hiking, boating, hunting and golf. He also loves theater, music, travel and learning about different cultures.
