About Gregory Niemer
Professional Statement
Dr. Gregory Niemer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Clemson University, where he received several honors. He was a member of the Tiger Brotherhood and served as president of the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity from 1990 to 1991. He was also recognized as an Outstanding College Student of America and named a Clemson Alumni Presidential Scholar.
In 1996, Dr. Niemer completed an internal medicine internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. He went on to finish a residency and a rheumatology fellowship in 1998.
Dr. Niemer has been active in clinical research, serving as a principal investigator for the Amgen KIND study and the Immunex RADIUS I study. He has contributed to published research, including a collaborative paper titled “Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Sarcoidosis” with M.B. Bolster, L. Buxbaum and M.A. Judson.
He is board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology, reflecting his commitment to high standards in medical care.
Outside of work, Dr. Niemer enjoys cheering on the Clemson Tigers with his wife and two sons.
