Dr. Rudolph ordered knee and hip xrays. He explained the results to me. My knee replacement was still in place with know deviations from initial replacement. He went over the fluid and pain (laterally) was likely the result of a tendon. He placed steroids in the tendon. He went over my hip xrays compared to those taken 7 months prior. The hip was works and also has boney spurs. The best course of action would be a hip replacement. He went over all my fears and concerns about a hip replacement and the new methods that available. I wanted to make certain I would not experience hip dislocation as my father had experienced. Dr. Rudolph explained the new anterior approach that stabilizes the hip in the socket. He listened to my concerns about taking time off from work. He discussed that he would leave it up to me to decide when I was ready, that he would work with me on the scheduling. I am seeing him again in a few weeks to check on my knee tendon and further discuss the replacement. He listened to all my issues. It is disconcerting when you are only allowed one issue per visit but that is not the case with Dr. Rudolph and how he treats his patients.

Dr. Rudolph is skilled (he restored my elbow!), conscientious, patient, thorough, and I can't say enough good about him! I recommend him any chance I get to. He even answers my orthopedic questions that are not directly about my elbow fracture.
