Isaac Stappas, PAC

Isaac Stappas is a nationally certified physician assistant with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Orthopaedics. He earned a Master in Physician Assistant Studies from Elon University in Elon, NC. Stappas’ journey into medicine is anything but ordinary. Before transitioning to the medical field, he first earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dance and was a professional dancer with the American Ballet Theatre in New York City for 13 years. This experience not only made him appreciate the human body's capabilities but also introduced him to the world of sports-related injuries and healthcare.

Being a dancer, especially working closely with leading healthcare providers to overcome injuries, ignited his desire to pursue a career in medicine, where he could offer similar guidance and support to others. Stappas’ care philosophy is deeply influenced by his background, providing him with a unique understanding of the physical and emotional strains athletes and performers endure. This empathy is the foundation of his approach to patient care, focusing on understanding each patient's needs and the level of activity required for their recovery. His ability to relate to patients on this level creates a sense of ease and trust, knowing he understands not only their physical pain but also the desire to be well for what matters most to them.

When not treating patients, Stappas’ passion for the arts continues to thrive. Alongside his wife, a former soloist with the American Ballet Theatre, he remains dedicated to supporting and mentoring the next generation of dancers, reflecting his holistic approach to healthcare—one that values the connection between physical well-being and one's passions and aspirations.
