Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. James Schnell earned his M.D. from the University of South Carolina Medical School. Following graduation, he pursued his residency in Internal Medicine at the Bowman-Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University and North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. In 1995, he moved to Nashville to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University.
Returning to South Carolina in 1997, Dr. Schnell joined the practice of Palmetto Digestive. He finds fulfillment in working closely with his patients, offering personalized counseling to promote healthier lifestyles.
