Jeannie Buckner, MD

Dr. Jeannie Buckner is an orthopaedic surgeon with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Orthopaedics, specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction. Her goal is to help patients regain mobility and return to the activities they love.

She performs:

• Total hip replacement
• Total knee replacement
• Unicompartmental knee replacement
• Robotic joint replacement

Dr. Buckner earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Florida Jacksonville/Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, where she served as administrative chief resident and received multiple awards, including Most Outstanding Resident. She then completed a fellowship in arthroplasty at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.

Her approach to care is patient-centered and rooted in teamwork, integrity, and evidence-based medicine. Dr. Buckner strives to build strong relationships with her patients, taking the time to understand their goals and tailoring both surgical and nonsurgical treatments to support long-term wellness and function.

Dr. Buckner’s path to orthopaedics was shaped by a lifelong dedication to discipline and hard work. A former NCAA Division I basketball player and team captain, she brings that same focus and commitment to her practice, helping patients recover, stay active, and live their healthiest lives.

Outside of work, Dr. Buckner enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being on the water in the Lowcountry and staying active outdoors. She also has a deep love for animals and enjoys hands-on projects and travel when time allows.
