John Campbell III, MD

Dr. John Campbell is a board-certified family medicine physician with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care. He provides comprehensive primary care for individuals and families, with a focus on prevention, wellness and long-term relationships. He cares for a wide range of health needs, including diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. He also offers in-office procedures such as skin biopsies, laceration repair and cryotherapy, and performs EKGs when needed.

Dr. Campbell chose medicine early in life and later reaffirmed it as a calling to serve others with compassion. He enjoys building relationships with entire families, focusing on prevention while providing timely and effective care when illness occurs. His goal is to make patients feel known, supported and involved in every decision.

Before returning to full-time practice in the Lowcountry, Dr. Campbell spent several years in Northern Africa working with nonprofit organizations to plan and deliver medical services in rural, isolated communities. That experience strengthened his commitment to patient-centered care, clear communication and teamwork across cultures. He is fluent in French.

Dr. Campbell earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his family medicine residency at the Trident/MUSC Family Medicine Residency Program. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina Honors College and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Away from the clinic, he enjoys time with his wife and four daughters, church activities, going to the beach, exercising and cheering on Gamecock football.
