John Vollmer, PAC

John Vollmer, PA-C, is a nationally certified physician assistant specializing in orthopedics with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Orthopaedics. He brings more than two decades of experience to his role, focusing on total knee and total hip arthroplasty as well as post-operative care. John earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Health Science from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, where he also completed his physician assistant studies.

John’s clinical expertise includes:

• Robotic-assisted total knee
• Direct anterior total hip arthroplasty
• Arthritis and other degenerative conditions of the knee and hip

His goal is to ensure that patients experience a smooth recovery and return to the activities they enjoy.

John’s passion for medicine began at an early age growing up in a small town in Pennsylvania. His mother, a nurse for the local family physician, showed him firsthand the profound impact of compassionate care. Inspired by her dedication and the positive influence she had on her patients, John knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in healthcare.

John’s care philosophy centers on making his patients feel comfortable and confident. He takes the time to listen to their concerns and provides his recommendations in a calm and reassuring manner, helping patients navigate what can often be a stressful experience. Seeing his patients recover from surgery and return to living their lives to the fullest is one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a physician assistant, and their three daughters. As a busy family, they spend much of their free time outdoors whether on the boat, at the beach or traveling. John also enjoys exercising and staying active.
