Lauren Thompson, MD

Dr. Lauren Thompson is an OB/GYN with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners.

She specializes in:

• General and high-risk obstetrics
• Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
• Preventive care and family planning

Dr. Thompson is bilingual in English and Spanish, enhancing her ability to provide personalized care to a diverse patient population.

She earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine-Chattanooga.

Dr. Thompson’s care philosophy revolves around empathy, evidence-based medicine and personalized attention. She believes in building strong relationships with her patients based on trust and mutual respect. Dr. Thompson recognizes that each woman she treats is unique, with her own set of health concerns, preferences and goals. Her role is not only to diagnose and treat medical conditions but also to educate and empower her patients to make informed decisions about their health.

Drawn to OB/GYN for its unique ability to form close relationships with patients, Dr. Thompson enjoys following a woman’s health journey from adolescence to menopause and beyond. She also appreciates the hands-on aspect of her specialty, performing relatively short procedures that can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Thompson loves being outdoors with her family and friends, whether swimming at the beach or walking along The Battery. She enjoys shopping, trying different restaurants, and traveling to new places. Her hobbies include needlepointing, interior design, listening to Taylor Swift, reading rom-coms, cheering on the Carolina Panthers and watching TV.
