Professional Statement
Dr. Lilly Klahs is a board-certified family medicine physician with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care. She cares for patients from adolescence through their senior years, with clinical interests in preventive health, chronic disease management, women's health and musculoskeletal conditions. She is also certified in osteopathic manipulative treatment, a hands-on approach to diagnosing and treating pain and restricted movement.
Clinical interests and services include:
- Preventive health and wellness visits
- Management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol
- Women's health
- Musculoskeletal and joint conditions
- Osteopathic manipulative treatment
Dr. Klahs was drawn to medicine by the chance to pair science and problem-solving with long-term relationships with patients. She chose family medicine for its variety and for the opportunity to care for people through all stages of their lives.
She believes the best care is individualized, evidence-based and collaborative. She takes time to understand each patient's goals, concerns and daily life so they can build a treatment plan together that is both medically sound and realistic to follow. She emphasizes prevention and shared decision-making, and she treats the whole person rather than focusing on a diagnosis alone.
What she enjoys most is helping patients understand their own health. She finds it rewarding to work with people to prevent problems before they start and to watch small changes add up over time.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Klahs is trained to consider how the body's structure and movement affect overall health. She uses osteopathic manipulative treatment in her practice, particularly for patients dealing with muscle, joint and back pain.
Dr. Klahs earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at AdventHealth East Orlando. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Klahs enjoys gardening, tea, DIY home projects and exploring the outdoors.
