About Louis Haenel IV
Professional Statement
Dr. Louis Haenel, a board-certified endocrinologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Endocrinology, earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in New Jersey. He completed his residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital and a fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Haenel previously served as director of the endocrine division and endocrinology fellowship program at Rowan-SOM. He has advanced expertise in diabetes management, including insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. He also has extensive experience in the evaluation and ultrasound-guided biopsy of nodular thyroid disease, as well as in thyroid cancer management.
He currently leads the endocrinology section for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
