Michael Colfax, MD

Dr. Michael Colfax is a board-certified family medicine physician with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care.

He specializes in:

• Managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity
• Sports medicine, offering knee and shoulder injections
• Dermatologic procedures, including skin biopsies

He earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at Duke University/Southern Regional Area Health Education Center. Drawing on his experience as a medical director and primary care physician with the United States Air Force, Dr. Colfax is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.

His decision to pursue medicine was inspired by his great aunt whose unwavering commitment to her patients left a lasting impression. Through her example and the mentorship of a primary care physician during college, Dr. Colfax realized the profound difference he could make in the lives of individuals and families. His time in the Air Force further shaped his philosophy, underscoring the importance of preventive care and resilience.
