Dr. Michael Field is a board certified cardiac electrophysiologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Carolina Arrhythmia. He has more than 15 years of experience providing innovative treatment for cardiac conditions related to the electrical activities of the heart.

Dr. Field is skilled in:

  • Catheter ablation for a wide range of conditions including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia
  • Pacemaker and ICD implantation
  • Left atrial appendage occlusion procedures (Watchman and Amulet) 

Dr. Field earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After completing his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he completed fellowships in both cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He has published over 70 academic papers, contributed to nearly a dozen medical journals and textbooks, and is a sought-after national and international lecturer. An avid researcher, he is involved in 10 clinical trials and research studies.

Dr. Field is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and American Heart Association and on the editorial board of several journals. In his free time, Dr. Field enjoys cooking, traveling and playing soccer with his son.
