Nicole Jawitz, MD

Dr. Nicole Jawitz is a board-certified gastroenterologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Gastroenterology. She provides comprehensive care for adults with a wide range of digestive health conditions, with a particular focus on the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She is also passionate about preventive health and the importance of colorectal cancer screening. She performs a variety of gastroenterology procedures, including screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Clinical interests and services include:

• Colon cancer screening and prevention
• Upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
• Inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
• Microscopic colitis

Dr. Jawitz earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. She completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center and subsequently joined the Duke faculty, where she practiced within the Duke Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic.

Her approach centers on personalized, comprehensive care, with an emphasis on clear communication, clinical partnership, and shared decision-making. Dr. Jawitz speaks Mandarin and welcomes the opportunity to care for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of work, Dr. Jawitz enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, traveling and exploring Charleston’s vibrant food scene.
