Salvatore Albini, MD

Dr. Mark Albini is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners OB/GYN. With more than three decades of experience, he cares for women through every stage of life, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and robotic gynecologic surgery and menopausal medicine.

Clinical interests and services include:

• Robotic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
• Treatment of endometriosis
• Hysterectomy and hysteroscopy
• Menopause management and hormone therapy
• Complex pelvic surgery
• Care for high-risk pregnancies

Dr. Albini knew from an early age that he wanted to be a physician, inspired by his own childhood pediatrician. That early sense of purpose has carried through a long career devoted to caring for women and advancing his field.

A longtime leader in robotic gynecologic surgery, Dr. Albini has spent much of his career developing and growing minimally invasive surgery programs. For patients, that experience can mean smaller incisions, less discomfort and a faster return to everyday life.

Dr. Albini believes the best care begins with listening. He sees each patient as a partner, bringing his medical expertise together with what only she can know about her own body and life – an approach he believes leads to the best outcomes. He is most grateful for the lasting relationships he has built with patients over the years and the chance to improve their lives.

Dr. Albini earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Connecticut, following a residency in internal medicine at Saint Mary's Hospital in Connecticut. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Connecticut.

Outside of work, Dr. Albini enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with their family. He likes to bike and golf, and he recently took a mission trip to Guatemala with his youngest daughter – an experience he hopes to repeat.
