Dr. Sara Wilson is a board certified general surgeon. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, and completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Wilson completed her general surgery residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She was born at the old downtown St. Francis hospital and raised in Charleston, and is thrilled to have returned home to care for patients in the Lowcountry. As the daughter, granddaughter and niece of Roper St. Francis Healthcare surgeons, she is excited to continue their tradition of compassionate, high-quality surgical care.
When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Wilson enjoys spending time outside and on the water with her husband, son, and extended family.

Dr. Wilson took excellent care of me during my stay at Roper and my follow up appointment. I am so appreciative for the care provided from Dr. Wilson, Lexy (PA), nurses, technicians, etc. For my surgery. Everything was explained very clearly to me and I felt very confident that surgery was the correct decision. My recovery was easy and manageable and Dr. Wilson and team were very clear on what to expect post-surgery. And my follow up appointment with Dr. Wilson was just as positive as my stay at the hospital. My physical issues I was experiencing have been addressed with the procedures and I feel great. Thank you to Dr. Wilson and team.

Dr Wilson is exceptional. In addition to all the right calls she made prior to and during my surgery, she was attentive post surgery. She listens carefully to my questions and concerns, and addresses each of them directly and in a way that I fully understand her reasoning and rationale. I feel very fortunate that Dr Wilson was my surgeon that day and I'm grateful for the carefully measured care she gave me every step of the way.
