Dr. Thomas Appleby is board-certified in vascular surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care, affirming his extensive qualifications and commitment to excellence in patient care. He is a member of the Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Vascular Surgery team, where he specializes in treating a range of complex conditions, including:

• Carotid artery disease
• Peripheral artery disease
• Aortic aneurysms
• Venous disease

Dr. Appleby earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Following medical school, Dr. Appleby completed a general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and a vascular surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. These experiences equipped him with the knowledge and skills to excel in the demanding field of vascular surgery.

Choosing a career in medicine was a natural path for Dr. Appleby, inspired by his family's medical background — his mother, a nurse anesthetist, and his father, a general surgeon. This upbringing instilled in him a profound desire to serve others through medicine, a passion that drives him every day.
