Whitney Reed, FNP

Whitney Reed is a nationally certified nurse practitioner with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Neurology. She specializes in headache and facial pain disorders and has an additional qualification in headache medicine from the National Headache Foundation. She sees patients both in person and virtually.

Whitney treats a wide range of conditions including:

• Migraine
• Cluster headache
• Hemicrania continua
• Trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias
• Trigeminal neuralgia
• Atypical facial pain
• Idiopathic intracranial hypertension
• Spontaneous intracranial hypotension

She uses both traditional medications and advanced treatments such as CGRP inhibitors, nerve blocks and Botox injections to help patients manage their symptoms to get them back to doing the things they love.

With extensive clinical experience in a dedicated headache and facial pain clinic, Whitney takes a compassionate, patient-centered approach. She works with her patients to develop a plan that is specific to their needs and health goals.

Whitney earned her bachelor’s degrees in biology and nursing from Western Kentucky University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Louisville.

Outside of work, Whitney enjoys exploring the Lowcountry with her husband and three sons. She also enjoys going to the beach, listening to live music and relaxing with a good book.
